Karina is a family law attorney with more than four years of experience helping individuals and families navigate some of the most challenging transitions of their lives. Originally from Southern California, Karina earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Arizona State University before moving to Oregon to attend Lewis & Clark Law School.
While in college, Karina worked with children with special needs as a behavior therapist and paraprofessional. During law school, she externed at St. Andrew Legal Clinic and volunteered with the Clark County Volunteer Lawyers Program as a Pre-Appointment Volunteer.
After graduating from law school, Karina clerked for the Honorable Andrew M. Lavin at the Multnomah County Courthouse. Her experience as a judicial clerk gave her the opportunity to observe court proceedings from the perspective of both the attorneys and the Court, an experience that continues to inform her approach to advocacy and case strategy.
For the past four years, Karina has practiced exclusively in family law and has represented clients in a wide range of matters, including divorce and separation, custody and parenting time disputes, protective orders under the Family Abuse Prevention Act (FAPA), stalking protective orders, and cases involving custody and parenting time evaluations. She understands that every family and every case is different, and she works closely with her clients to understand their goals, provide practical guidance, and develop a strategy tailored to their individual circumstances.
Karina is passionate about helping people move forward during difficult periods in their lives. She strives to make her clients feel heard and informed while providing thoughtful, compassionate, and zealous advocacy. She believes that effective family law representation means not only advocating strongly for a client’s interests, but also helping clients understand their options so they can make informed decisions about their family’s future.
Outside of the office, Karina enjoys spending time with her husband and son, traveling, trying new recipes, and making the most of time with her family.
